HSBC, Bank of China and Hang Seng ATMs are dense and fee-free from the operator side.
Octopus card covers transit and much small commerce; cards fine elsewhere.
Electronics shops on Nathan Road may run your card in your home currency without asking. Check the slip and ask for a re-run in HKD if so.
