Say this at the counter
원화로 결제할게요
Say it: Won-hwa-ro gyeol-je-hal-ge-yo
It means: “charge me in KRW, please, without conversion.”

Look for bank ATMs marked “Global” at Shinhan/KB/Woori, but switch the charge to KRW when offered. Convenience-store ATMs may charge more.
Cards accepted almost universally; T-money transit cards need cash or app top-ups.
Duty-free counters love charging tourists in USD/JPY/CNY “for convenience”. Insist on won unless you’re actually paying with that currency’s card.
