Use bank ATMs (BBVA, Banorte, Santander) attached to branches; fees ~MX$30–60. Resort-strip standalone machines charge steep fees plus DCC.
Cash is king at markets, taxis and small restaurants.
If a menu prices in USD, you’re in DCC territory before the card even comes out. Ask for peso pricing and pay in pesos.
